DeadBro is an Application Performance Monitoring tool for Rails developers. This policy describes how and when artificial intelligence features are used within the product, and the principles that govern that use.
01. AI is Optional and Always User-Initiated
DeadBro does not apply AI automatically to your data. No background AI processing occurs without your explicit action.
On eligible plans, users may choose to send a specific event, query, or error trace to an AI model for interpretation. This is a manual, on-demand action — the user selects the data and triggers the request. Nothing is inferred, flagged, or acted upon by AI unless a user makes that deliberate choice.
02. What Data Is Sent to AI Models
When a user triggers an AI interpretation request, only the selected technical data is submitted — typically one or more of the following:
- SQL query patterns or N+1 detection results
- Error messages, backtraces, and request context
- Performance metrics for a specific request or time window
DeadBro does not transmit your end users' personal data (names, emails, identifiers, or any PII) to AI models. You are responsible for ensuring that any data visible in your DeadBro dashboard does not contain sensitive personal information before triggering an AI request.
03. Human Oversight — AI Advises, Humans Decide
AI responses in DeadBro are presented as informational suggestions only. The tool explains what it sees in the data; it does not modify your application, your database, your configuration, or any other resources.
All decisions and any follow-up actions remain entirely with the developer. AI output is a starting point for investigation, not an automated fix.
04. Transparency
Whenever AI-generated content is displayed in the DeadBro interface, it is clearly labelled as such. Users are never presented with AI output in a way that obscures its origin or implies it is a definitive system finding.
05. No Training on Customer Data
DeadBro does not use your application data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. Data submitted during an AI interpretation request is used solely to generate a response to that request.
We use third-party AI providers subject to their own data processing agreements. We select providers whose terms are consistent with this commitment.
06. Accuracy and Limitations
AI-generated interpretations may contain errors, miss context, or reflect the limitations of the underlying model. DeadBro makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of AI responses.
Users should treat AI output as one input among many — not a substitute for careful engineering judgment or code review.
07. Prohibited Uses
DeadBro's AI features may not be used for:
- Surveillance or profiling of end users
- Processing special-category personal data (health, financial, biometric, etc.) through the AI interpretation feature
- Any purpose that violates applicable law, including GDPR and other privacy regulations
- Automated decision-making with legal or significant effects on individuals
08. Data Retention and Security
Telemetry data collected by DeadBro is stored securely and retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Data submitted in an AI request is not stored beyond what is required to return a response, unless retention is required by the provider's standard processing terms.
We apply industry-standard security practices to all data in transit and at rest.
